Siri AI now available in more languages
With the 27.2 software updates, Siri AI, Apple's rebuilt voice assistant, is now available in five more languages, though Ukrainian is not among them.
What happened
With the 27.2 software updates, Apple expanded access to Siri AI. This is a completely reimagined version of Siri that the company says is more capable, conversational, and personal. It now works in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
What the new Siri can do
Siri AI uses personal context to help find what users need across their messages, emails, and photos. It can draft an email from scratch or edit and share a set of photos. It is also aware of what is on the screen and can answer questions or take actions related to that content. For general questions, it uses broad world knowledge to provide up-to-date information on almost any topic.
Where and for whom it works
A device with Apple Intelligence turned on is required, and the device and Siri language must be supported. In beta, Siri AI is available in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish on iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2. Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese are coming by the end of the year.
Apple Intelligence overall supports Chinese (simplified and traditional), Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Ukrainian is not on this list. Some features may not be available in all regions or languages, and some devices may not be available in certain regions.
Limits to know about
Siri AI is currently unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. Apple says it is working constructively with the EU to find a path forward. It is also not available to users under 13.
Some features that rely on server-side models have daily usage limits. This includes Siri AI, intelligent photo editing tools, Image Playground, and AFM 3 Cloud models in Shortcuts. Limits may vary by feature, request complexity, system demand, and other factors. Apple says expanded access to these features will be available for a fee in the future. Details are on Apple's support page.
