Former Promova CEO Becomes Co-Founder of Portal: What He Is Building
Andriy Skrypnyk, former CEO of the educational platform Promova, has become a co-founder of Portal, a startup now building personal AI assistants and a social network.
What happened
Andriy Skrypnyk, who previously led the educational platform Promova, joined the startup Portal as a co-founder. He told the outlet AIN about it. Portal previously worked mainly with a narrow group of content creators, and now it focuses on a social network and personal AI assistants.
In the fall it became known that the Ukrainian EdTech company Promova is returning to the product company Boosters, and Skrypnyk is leaving his CEO post to work on the new project.
How the connection to the startup happened
According to Skrypnyk, he met Portal's founder Volodymyr through the book «25 Principles of the Playa». Skrypnyk wrote it with the help of the Portal tool after attending the Burning Man festival. The book reached the startup's founder through Oleksiy Malytskyi, CEO of the platform KYG, after which the parties began discussing cooperation.
How Portal has changed
At first, Portal developed AI solutions for marketing automation. In January 2025 it became a social network where videos can be generated on request. In February 2026 the company released a personal AI assistant, Portal One. It can work with email and calendar, search and compare offers, and remember the user's context.
At the same time, the startup is developing Midos, an AI operator that writes code and learns on its own. It is also planned to be sold to other companies.
What the founder says about the market
Skrypnyk notes that chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude are already widespread, while the market for assistants that independently carry out users' tasks is only taking shape. In his words, it will be a big market, but it is not yet clear who will become the leader.
The team plans to create a personal assistant for the mass user and continues building the social network for communication and sharing experience. Skrypnyk said the first blocks of the updated social network have already launched.
