IFTTT becomes IFTTT.ai: AI-powered automation you can set up in plain words
The automation service IFTTT is being renamed IFTTT.ai, opening all its features to every user and adding an AI agent that can watch web pages and run actions across your apps.
What changed
IFTTT, a service that connects apps and devices so they work automatically, is being renamed IFTTT.ai. The founder and CEO, Linden, announced this on Product Hunt. The name comes from the idea of "if this, then that": when an event happens, an action runs.
The main news for everyday users: every core feature and every service is now available to everyone. This includes multiple actions, filters, queries, and Webhooks. You can build as many Applets as you want. Plans now run on credits, so you pay for Applet runs rather than for which features you can use. The company says every plan, including Free, now includes every service.
New AI features
The IFTTT AI Agent can watch a web page for you, for example to catch a new job listing or a price change. The Agent can also run queries and actions across your connected apps when you describe them in plain words. AI Action assist writes an Applet's action each time it runs, based on the trigger, and can skip the action when appropriate.
You can also ask your own AI assistant to use IFTTT through MCP, or describe the automation you want in IFTTT's chat. The company says all existing AI queries now run on better models.
Examples to start with
An Applet can notify you when a competitor changes its price, log the new number to a spreadsheet, and post it to your team's Slack. Another Applet can read your bill emails and add each due date to your calendar. If you're not sure where to start, describe what you want in IFTTT's chat.
