Apple adds an AI assistant to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers
Apple is adding AI assistants to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, and updating its creative apps, including Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Pixelmator Pro.
What the AI assistant can do
Apple is adding an AI assistant to its document apps: Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. The assistant is built on AI models from Apple and OpenAI, and it can understand a document's context.
In Keynote, the assistant can design, animate, and refine slides. In Pages, it can draft, restructure, and tweak written content. In Numbers, it can calculate, visualize, and organize data, suggest chart types, and build custom tables.
When and on which devices you can try it
The assistant is rolling out in beta. It works on devices compatible with Apple Intelligence, including those running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later.
Keynote, Pages, and Numbers also support the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, which lets third-party AI agents plug into the apps.
Updates to Apple's creative apps
Pixelmator Pro gets a Generate Fill feature that lets you edit part of an image by describing the changes you want. Apple says it automatically matches the lighting, perspective, and texture of the surrounding area so edits blend in.
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad gets a Liquid Glass redesign and an AI assistant that can set up a vocal track from a single prompt and edit existing projects. The redesigned Browser on Mac uses on-device AI to automatically analyze, classify, and tag added sounds.
Final Cut Pro gets templates, graphics, titles, and transitions from MotionVFX, available directly in the app. It also gets a Content Hub with a library of stock videos, photos, and backgrounds.
Updates to Apple's Creator Studio will be free for existing subscribers starting in November.
