ChatGPT can now make you animated GIFs
ChatGPT can create GIFs from a text prompt or a photo, and lets you change the animation speed and individual frames.
What's new
ChatGPT can now create animated GIFs. You can write a prompt or upload a photo in the chat. Before this, the chatbot could not make a GIF in a single step.
The update comes with the new Images 2.6 image model. After creating a GIF, you can change the playback speed, edit individual frames, and share the file with others.
Example
OpenAI shared an example with the prompt "can you make a gif of a cat dancing?" ChatGPT creates the animation and lets you view it frame by frame and change its speed.
Faster generation and more images
Along with GIF support, the update makes image generation in ChatGPT faster, according to OpenAI. The company says users now generate over 4 billion images per week across ChatGPT and its API. In September, it reported 3 billion per week.
Images 2.6 is rolling out to all ChatGPT and Codex users on web, desktop, and mobile apps. OpenAI is also launching GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and GPT-Image-2.6 Sunburst in its API for faster and higher-quality image generation.
