Turn a Quick Drawing into a Live App with Gemini

Gemini can turn your simple sketch of an interface or habit tracker into a working app by writing the code from a photo of it.

What this is

App ideas often start on paper, from a screen sketch to a habit tracker or a game board. Google suggests turning such a drawing into an interactive tool with Gemini.

You don't need to know how to write code. It is enough to photograph the drawing and give Gemini a task.

How it works step by step

First, upload a photo of your sketch to Gemini. It can be an app mock-up, a habit tracker or a game board.

Then select the Canvas tool and type the prompt: "Can you code this app?" Gemini reads the drawing and creates the code.

You can check the result in the preview window. If something doesn't suit you, ask Gemini to change colors, fonts or features. It makes the changes in real time during the preview.

Why it matters for an ordinary person

If you have an idea you want to test quickly, you don't have to wait for a programmer or learn a programming language. The sketch becomes a working version that you can adjust with a few more prompts.
