Firefox learns to fill out forms from your tabs and watch websites

The updated AI mode in Firefox, Smart Window, can fill online forms with data from your open tabs and notify you when a page shows sales or new job listings.

Filling forms from your tabs

Mozilla is updating Smart Window, the AI mode in its Firefox browser. It can now take information from your open tabs and use it to fill out online forms. For example, Smart Window can pull data from your online portfolio or LinkedIn page and paste your work history into a job application.

To try it, click into a form with at least four text fields. An option called "Fill from sources" will appear. It shows all the tabs Firefox can draw from. You choose which tabs to use and which to skip. The browser then generates suggestions for the fields based on the information in those pages.

For now the feature works with text fields on web forms. Mozilla is working on support for dropdown menus and PDFs. The company also says data from your source pages is shared with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, the model that generates the suggestions.

Watching webpages

The second feature lets Smart Window watch a webpage for sales, new job listings, and other updates. To set up a task, type "/watch" in the Smart Window chat, describe what you are looking for, and add the pages you want to watch. Firefox checks for updates daily or weekly, but only while the browser is open.

When Firefox detects the change, it sends a notification through the Tasks button on the toolbar or to your desktop, if desktop notifications are turned on. If no change is found for 60 days, watching pauses. After 90 days, it stops completely.

Where it is available

Both features are rolling out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the US and Canada for now. Mozilla says they will reach other countries in the coming months.
