Meta lets US users video chat with their Muse AI avatar
Meta's Muse Voice feature now lets people in the US call their Muse AI assistant and talk to it by video through an animated avatar.

What was launched
Meta announced that Muse Voice, a feature that lets users talk to its Muse AI assistant by voice or video, is now available to everyone in the US. The company made the announcement on Thursday.
The feature was first shown at Meta's Connect developer conference in September. It runs on new models: Muse Realtime Avatar, which powers the digital avatar, and Muse Realtime Voice, which handles the voice.
What it looks like for users
The Muse avatar is a cute animated character that Meta nicknames Jolly. Users ask questions or request tasks, and the avatar responds. Users can change the avatar to look more like a person, an animal, or another character.
Meta believes this character can help people feel more connected to their AI assistant. According to the company, the avatar uses subtle expressions and gestures that match the tone of the conversation. Muse does not actually see the user. It hears them and reacts to what they say.
Where it works and what comes next
Real-time conversations are currently supported on mobile, web, and Mac. They will later come to Meta's AI Glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm device.
Meta also plans to launch a Tamagotchi-like wearable for its Muse AI agent before the end of the year. The avatar will appear on its small screen, letting users talk to the agent, which can reply or carry out tasks.
