Amazon's Alexa now helps you manage shopping lists and subscriptions
Amazon's Alexa voice assistant has received more than 100 new shopping features, including list management, subscription changes, delivery updates, and help with billing questions.
What's new in Alexa
Ahead of the holiday season, Amazon added more than 100 new shopping-related features to its Alexa voice assistant. They include managing shopping lists and subscriptions, updating delivery instructions, solving payment problems, and answering questions about Prime subscriptions.
With Alexa, you can now create lists, share them, see what's on them, and add or edit items.
Subscriptions and delivery
The AI assistant can manage subscriptions. For example, you can ask it to change deliveries for an item from every month to every three months. You can also update delivery instructions, such as changing an address or adding drop-off details.
Payments and Prime
Users can ask Alexa about their Prime or Audible subscriptions. They can also ask about billing and payment issues.
Why it matters
Amazon says that since the start of the year, the number of people using features where AI completes tasks on their behalf has grown eightfold. Over the last 12 months, more than 400 million consumers have used Alexa for shopping. Earlier this year, Amazon also launched other AI shopping features, including a shopping assistant and notifications about new products and offers.
